Deep Tissue Massage, TMJ Massage, Scar Massage, Lymphatic Drainage

Located in a private clinic in Chartwell, Hamilton. I have a Post Grad in Remedial and Sports Massage covering the pathophysiology of over 30 sporting injuries and how to treat these with manual techniques. I also have specialist qualifications in Lymphatic Drainage, Scar Management, TMJ Massage & Oncology Massage.
TMJ Massage and Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction
TMJ massage is a gentle, targeted technique that focuses on the muscles around the jaw to reduce tension, pain, and stiffness associated with temporomandibular joint dysfunction. It works by relaxing key muscles involved in jaw movement, including the masseter, temporalis, and surrounding neck muscles, which often become tight due to clenching, grinding (bruxism), stress, or poor posture. Regular TMJ massage can help improve jaw mobility, ease headaches and facial discomfort, reduce clicking or tightness, and promote overall relaxation by releasing muscle tension.
This treatment is not only helpful for jaw pain, but also neck and shoulder issues, dizziness, vertigo, poor sleep, tooth grinding and clenching and migraines.

Lymphatic Drainage Massage, Post Operative Lymphatic Drainage & Deep Colon Massage
This treatment is a rhythmic treatment for the face and body which focuses directly on improving the flow of the Lymphatic System, by following the pathways of the Lymph vessels located throughout the body. I perform lymphatic drainage massage using bespoke techniques to naturally stimulate the lymph nodes using combination of Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage and Vodder techniques to give results. I am also able to do deep Colon Massage. The Vodder method of Lymphatic Drainage Massage, which takes it roots back to the early 1930’s, aims to move lymphatic fluid from the body’s tissues and into the lymphatic vessels, soothing the body, calming the nervous system, and aiding in pain relief and as part of the post surgical rehabilitative process. Post surgical Lymphatic Drainage is very gentle and draws stagnant lymph away from the wound site aiding healing.. You can get Lymphatic Massage starting 3 days after surgery which can help with the healing process - I recommend booking in early to ensure you get an appointment. I hold qualifications for both Vodder Method and Vodder Method post surgical techniques as well as Brazilian.
PLEASE ALLOW AT LEAST ONE HOUR FOR THIS TREATMENT.

Scar Tissue Massage
Despite what you might think, Scar Massage is a very gentle way of softening and flattening and breaking up Scar tissue. It can stop scar tissue build up, pulling and tugging sensations and help make scars less noticeable. Your scar or scars will continue to grow and change for about twelve to eighteen months, so the earlier and more regularly you massage your scar, the less the chance of long-term problems. It is recommended to get scar massage 8 weeks after the injury once the site is fully healed, however, you can get manual lymphatic massage starting 3 days after surgery which can help promote the healing process and can even aid the scarring process.
Scar massage can help:
-
Reduce itchiness or over-sensitivity of scars
-
Improve the flexibility, mobility and softness of scars
-
Make collagen form more evenly by applying pressure
-
Stop the scar adhering to surrounding muscles and ligaments and restricting function.
-
Break fibrosis and promote lymphatic flow
