Located in a private clinic in Chartwell, Hamilton. I have a Post Grad in Remedial and Sports Massage covering the pathophysiology of over 30 sporting injuries and how to treat these with manual techniques.  I also have specialist qualifications in Lymphatic Drainage, Scar Management, TMJ Massage & Oncology Massage.

TMJ Massage and Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction

TMJ massage is a targeted manual therapy that focuses on the muscles around the jaw joint to ease pain, stiffness, and tension. This treatment can help people with:

  • Jaw pain or clicking

  • Headaches and tension around the temples or face

  • Neck and shoulder tension

  • Teeth grinding (bruxism) and related sleep issues

The technique relaxes tight muscles such as the masseter and temporalis, improves jaw mobility, and can reduce discomfort from TMJ dysfunction. Alongside symptom relief, many clients experience better sleep and reduced neck/shoulder strain.

Lymphatic Drainage Massage, Post Surgical Lymphatic Drainage & Deep Colon Massage

Lymphatic Drainage Massage is a gentle, rhythmic treatment for the face and body that supports and improves the natural flow of the lymphatic system. The treatment follows the pathways of the lymph vessels throughout the body to encourage healthy lymph movement and drainage.

I use a bespoke combination of the internationally recognised Vodder Method, Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage, and Myofascial Lymphatic techniques to effectively stimulate lymph nodes and promote visible and therapeutic results. I am also trained to provide deep colon massage where appropriate.

The Vodder Method of Lymphatic Drainage Massage, developed in the 1930s, is designed to gently move lymphatic fluid from the body’s tissues into the lymphatic vessels. This supports detoxification, soothes the body, calms the nervous system and can assist with pain relief and recovery.

Post-surgical lymphatic drainage is performed using very gentle techniques to help draw stagnant lymph away from the surgical area, assisting healing, reducing swelling and supporting the rehabilitation process. Lymphatic drainage can usually begin from three days after surgery. Early booking is recommended to ensure availability during your recovery period.

Lymphatic Drainage Massage may help with:

  • Swelling, oedema and post-surgical recovery

  • Lipedema and lymphoedema

  • Pregnancy-related fluid retention and swelling

  • Support with weight-management programs

  • Menopause and other hormonal changes

  • Headaches and migraines

  • Digestive issues

  • Fatigue, general aches and pains

  • Reducing fibrosis and improving lymphatic flow

  • Arthritis

  • Stress reduction and nervous system support

Scar Tissue Massage

Despite what you might think, Scar Massage is a very gentle way of softening and flattening and breaking up Scar tissue. It can stop scar tissue build up, pulling and tugging sensations and help make scars less noticeable. Your scar or scars will continue to grow and change for about twelve to eighteen months, so the earlier and more regularly you massage your scar, the less the chance of long-term problems.  It is recommended to get scar massage 8 weeks after the injury once the site is fully healed, however, you can get manual lymphatic massage starting 3 days after surgery which can help promote the healing process and can even aid the scarring process.

Scar massage can help:

  • Reduce itchiness or over-sensitivity of scars

  • Improve the flexibility, mobility and softness of scars

  • Make collagen form more evenly by applying pressure

  • Stop the scar adhering to surrounding muscles and ligaments and restricting function.

  • Break fibrosis and promote lymphatic flow

Oncology Massage

Oncology Massage is a safe and gentle form of massage specifically designed for people undergoing treatment or are in remission from treatment for cancer. Oncology Massage is a light gentle massage and very relaxing.

Oncology massage may help with pain, cancer-related fatigue, anxiety, and quality of life, and meets evidence-based guidelines for aiding in the relief of depression and mood disorders in people with breast cancer. Massage may also play a role in the prevention of neuropathic pain related to chemotherapy drugs.

As part of my Oncology Massage service, I can also incorporate scar and post-surgery tissue massage to aid the healing process.

Oncology Massage can be offered as an at home treatment. I will come to your house so you can relax in the comfort of your own home. Please contact me directly to arrange.
