What not to do...

Updated: Apr 1, 2019

Believe it or not, this is actually a question I have been sent... the answer is NOOOO. Put simply, after you have your baby, your stomach muscles need time to recover, they have gradually been stretched over the course of 9 months to support your baby, and now with the arrival, they are pretty loose and need to shrink back in. These stomach muscles along with the muscles that are on your back and bottom all support your spine. So picking up heavy things when they are not strong... not a good idea. This can lead to back pain, bulging discs, pelvic pain or even a prolapse. Rehabbing and getting back into exercise with the help of someone qualified in Pre & Post Natal Exercise can help you get back quicker and safely.
