Exercising after Hysterectomy

Returning to exercise after a Hysterectomy is a slow process at the best of times, let alone when you are warned of a chance of Prolapse. For those of you that don't know what a Prolapse is, its a bulging of one or more pelvic organs into the vagina due to weak Pelvic Floor muscles.

Very uncomfortable and can interfere with a lot of everyday activities, so something you want to avoid. My formally very active client was terrified to exercise. We started slowly, focused on pelvic floor strengthening, worked on breathing, worked on abdominal strength, and over the course of a few months built up to being able to do regular gym based sessions.
